At the start of 2018, YOFO adopted a new slogan, “Yoga for Everyone,” and on June 16th at 9:30am we will host our first “Yoga for Everyone” fundraiser. Research supports that all populations, including low income, benefit from a regular yoga/ mindfulness practice. We do not want income to be a barrier to access this valuable life skill. Our mission is to provide yoga to these demographics and to spread the love and peace that yoga brings throughout our community. With your help, YOFO currently provides free yoga to over 200 children in the Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania regional headstart program. We also serve troubled teens in our juvenile detention center as well as children attending Gladys Oberle School.
Our fundraiser will begin at 9:30am in Kenmore Park with a meditation lead by YOFO founder, John McLaughlin, followed by community yoga lead by Stephanie Vernon Lorin. Following yoga at Kenmore YOFO will serve refreshments. We hope that this Father’s Day weekend FXBG will join together to cultivate positivity in support of the YOFO mission. This event is kid-friendly; Emily Webb will lead children’s yoga inside the studio at 11am.
